Eat

My memory is always very bad, especially for names. I have been to some of restaurants but never remembered their name. My friends and colleague always ask me for recommendation about good Chinese restaurants. Since I have set up my blog so here you are. I am trying to pick up their business cards every time when I revisited them then post their address here.

Chinese Food

Dim Sum

Alisan_阿里山
Wembley Retail Park, Engineers Way, Wembley London HA9 0EG
Tel: 020 8903 3888 www.alisan.co.uk

Comments: This restaurant is close to Wembley Stadium; especially good for dim Sum when you are going for a match in Wembley Stadium. Usually match is arranged at 2pm or 4pm so they expect spectator will spend lunch or dinner time in Wembley Stadium. (They have a biggest dinning area in London, of course if you can pay for it) Dim Sum chef is CC Wong, was the Dim Sum chef for famous Yauatcha Michelin-starred Soho restaurant. So if you go for a match, go for Dim Sum at Alisan. Dim Sum is served until 5pm.

Angeles_安瑞丝川菜馆
405 Kilburn High Road London NW6 7QL (Next to Kilburn Tube Stn)
Tel: 020 7625 2663

Comments: this restaurant serve really good Sichuan cuisine which is second most popular type of food in China. It is in Kilburn (Zone 2) where Ken Livingstone lives. I couldn’t believe Hendon is so closed to it. I hope one day London will have Circle Line 02 for connecting the Zone2/3 area. Price is very reasonable low comparing to those in central London. Many Chinese students go for meeting there.

Bar Shu_水月巴山
28 Frith Street, Soho London, W1D 5LF
Tel: 020 7287 8822, Fax: 020 7287 8858
Email: info@bar-shu.co.uk; Website: www.bar-shu.co.uk

Comments: this restaurant serve excellent Sichuan cuisine. In terms of quality of foods, interior design and customer service, it is the best restaurant for Sichuan cuisine. Of course, price won’t be cheap. Average, 15-25pounds/head.

Snazz Sichuan
37 Chalton Street, Euston NW1 1JD
Tel: 020 7388 0808

Comments: restaurant is located not far from either Euston or Kings’ Cross station. There are not many restaurants around that area so it thus provide an alternative choice. Quality of foods is good also. Price will be between Bar Shu (High) and Angeles (Low).

Golden Dynasty_西湖樓
14 Lisle St, London WC2H 7BE
Tel: 020 7734 8580

Comments: restaurant is located at Lisle St. which is behind the Chinatown main street Gerrad St. and less people passing through. Therefore, it is a bit quiet. However, comparing the price and quality of foods which restaurants on the major Chinatown street Golden Dynasty serve an excellent southern Chinese cuisine. My favour dishes are jellyfish Chicken and mong fish. (no quite remember the dishes name. I will come back to change it.)

Comments: very convenience after you shopping in Oxford Street if you fancy spaghetti for dinner. Price is reasonable as well with some good wine choices.
